WHY AM I HERE?

If we're being honest, none of us wants to admit to feeling isolated or lonely. It's human nature to want to belong somewhere.  Admitting you feel alone or like you have no one to talk to can cause discomfort and anxiety. "WHY am I so alone? Is there something wrong with me?"

The answer is NO. Sadly, scientific studies continue to uncover the truth: 46 percent of Americans report feeling lonely sometimes or always, and 47 percent report feeling left out sometimes or always. That's nearly HALF of America.  There's nothing wrong with you.  As a Nation, we are experiencing a loneliness crisis!  Loneliness isn't defined as some little old lady sitting in a nursing home.  ANYONE can feel disconnected or isolated no matter how many people may be around.  It's a lack of actual connectedness that leads to loneliness or feelings that no one understands you or listens.

Additionally, though technological advances in communication continue to advance, reports indicate that feelings of loneliness are worse in younger generations than in older ones, with Generation Zers and Millennials reporting higher feelings of loneliness and isolation.  The US Department of Health and Human Services has stated, "Research has linked social isolation and loneliness to higher risks for a variety of physical and mental conditions: high blood pressure, heart disease, obesity, a weakened immune system, anxiety, depression, cognitive decline, Alzheimer’s disease, and even death.

You are here because you FEEL alone, but the good news is YOU ARE NOT ALONE.  You're just like nearly a reported 50% of Americans struggling to find meaning and connectedness in their everyday lives and relationships.

Because we recognize human connection is essential for vitality and longevity, we're providing a platform in which anyone who wants to, can find a caring listener.  At Bassic Living, you've found the belonging feeling you've been seeking.
